Mother's Struggle With Daughters' Allergies Launches Nationwide Support Program
The Food Equality Initiative, founded in Kansas City, Missouri by Emily Brown, addresses the needs of individuals with food allergies. It began when Brown, a mother of two daughters with severe food allergies, found insufficient local support. The organization, under CEO Erin Martinez, grew from grassroots efforts, involving a diverse group of volunteers, to a nationwide program. The initiative aims to include special diet foods in insurance coverage and now offers direct food shipments to clients' homes.
