Clemson Tigers Baseball Team Partners with The Miracle League
For children with special needs, the opportunity to step onto a collegiate baseball field and play the game they love is a rare occurrence. The Miracle League, a national organization with over 350 locations, works to bridge that gap by providing accessible baseball experiences. Recently, the organization partnered with the Clemson Tigers baseball team, bringing college athletes and young fans together on the diamond.
During the event, the Clemson players served as buddies for the children, assisting them during the game and building personal connections. The interaction provided the young athletes with the chance to play alongside the players they typically watch on television. For the college athletes, the experience offered a grounding perspective on their sport and their platform. By stepping away from the pressures of collegiate competition, the team used their position to directly impact their local community, demonstrating that baseball is, at its core, simply a kid's game.
