Founded on Valentine's Day in 1986 by twin sisters Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner, the facility began by serving meals to 22 people. Today, it delivers over 2,000 meals weekly to the homebound and serves hundreds more in-house, totaling around 120,000 meals annually. Despite the challenges, including the passing of its beloved founders Helen in 2015 and Ellen in 2018, the Love Kitchen continues to uphold their mission, ensuring that everyone in need receives nourishment and care. The impact of the Love Kitchen stretches beyond providing food; it is a crucial community support system during holidays and every day, embodying the spirit of its founders by treating everyone as 'God's somebody.'
