Postal Heroes: The Nationwide Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

05/02/25

Every year, on the second Saturday in May, postal carriers across the United States participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Initiated in 1993 by the National Association of Letter Carriers, this effort has successfully gathered over 1.8 billion pounds of food to aid those in need. During their routine deliveries, these carriers collect food items, which are quickly distributed to food banks and pantries. Essential items like canned goods, pasta, and proteins are highly valued. The drive not only helps alleviate hunger but also highlights the extraordinary community spirit and the pivotal role of postal workers in addressing food insecurity nationwide.
